CONCIERGE CARE
Health Crisis Management
Health crises never occur at a convenient time.
They’re even worse for elderly people who either don’t have a support system or whose families live at a distance. Many don’t know where to turn for support in a time of extreme need.

Keen Life Care Managers are available 24/7 to assist seniors and families in need.
Common Crises that Occur with Seniors
- Falls or accidents resulting in injuries
- Urinary tract infections or pneumonia requiring hospitalization
- Worsening of chronic diseases, such as COPD, congestive heart failure, diabetes, dementia, and arthritis
- Onset of new illness, such as cancer, stroke, heart attack, and seizures
- Acute worsening of a neurological disorder, such as Parkinsonism, multiple sclerosis, and ALS
Keen Life Care Managers can help assess the situation and create a plan, thereby alleviating your fears and empowering you to move forward.
We thrive on helping seniors and their families stabilize difficult situations. If you reside outside our Long Beach, CA service area, we can often provide remote services or help you locate a Life Care Manager in your area.
For seniors who have a strong support system, we can be your consultant and referral source. For individuals without reliable local support, we can oversee all medical care and services.

The Story of Joe and Sophia
Joe lives in New York, and his 93-year old mother, Sophia, in Southern California. One afternoon Joe received a call from his mom’s neighbor that Sophia had fallen and broken her hip while taking the trash cans to the curb. Sophia was in the emergency room in California, and Joe was at work in New York.
Joe was distraught and wanted to get on the next plane to give his mom comfort and support. Leaving his wife and two small children was not an option, since, in two days, she was to deliver their third child via C-section.
The hospital discharge planner referred Joe to Keen Home Care. He appreciated speaking with a Life Care Manager (LCM) who took him through his mom’s rehabilitation process.
Joe disclosed to the LCM that his mom had limited funds socked away in a mutual fund, but he worried that they would not be sufficient to support her care.
Prior to her fall, Sophia had lived alone in her own home and managed her affairs independently. Following surgery, Sophia experienced significant confusion.
